Impact & news

What we have actually done, and when

Everything here actually happened. Each entry says what we did, when, and who we did it with.

We do not add audiences up, and turning up is not the same as reach. Someone we worked with once is a past collaborator, not a current partner.

The record

What we have run, and who with

In date order, earliest first.

  1. Building the membership platform

Around eight months building a membership web app, with a login, product pages, partner banners and points you could redeem. We demonstrated it at the launch event.

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify's own tech lead and volunteers built the platform, with student developers from Preface working on it alongside them.
    Worked with
    Preface

Note. Our own run-of-show script for the launch describes eight months of work beginning the previous summer. It records no exact start or finish date.

  2. Foodlink Christmas bazaar

A Christmas gathering organised by Foodlink for children from low-income families and their parents. Sustainify designed three activity booths, on sustainability, on avoiding food waste and on everyday environmental knowledge.

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify designed and ran the three booths for younger participants and their families. Foodlink organised and hosted the event.
    Worked with
    Foodlink

Note. The detail about the booths comes from our own launch script, which looks back to the previous Christmas.

  3. French International School Fun Fair

A learning booth at the school's fun fair, with a short talk alongside it.

    Sustainify's role

Sustainify delivered the education element. Foodlink organised and hosted the activity.
    Worked with

  5. Corporate volunteering with Foodlink

A corporate volunteering activity. Our launch script names it as the third of three community collaborations with Foodlink in the six months before the launch.

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify volunteers took part in an activity Foodlink arranged.
    Worked with
    Foodlink
  6. School talks, games and product-story boards

Visits to schools to talk about putting sustainability into practice, interactive games made for primary and secondary pupils, and education boards developed with brands that traced a product from raw materials through production to packaging. One board followed a vegan gummy sweet. Team members also spoke at forums and other events.

    Sustainify's role
We wrote the material, made the games and gave the talks, working with the brands whose products the boards followed.
    Worked with
    Schools and sustainable product brands
  7. Launch event

The public launch of the platform, held at the Preface café. It included a panel discussion with the co-founder of GreenPrice, a representative of Earth Zero Studio and Compass's procurement director Chris Wong, and a conversation with Foodlink's head of operations, Aurea Yung. Launch reporting says more than 30 institutions were invited and that UNESCO representatives attended.

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify organised and hosted the event and presented the platform. Preface provided the venue.
    Worked with
Preface, GreenPrice, Earth Zero Studio, Compass, Foodlink

Note. The date is not settled. Coverage appeared on 3 May 2024 and does not date the event; Sustainify's run-of-show script was last edited on 5 April 2024, and internal photographs of the event are filed as 8 April 2024. UNESCO representatives attending an event is not an endorsement of Sustainify or its work.

  8. Book donation activity with ONE PILE

A month-long activity with the non-profit ONE PILE in which donated books earned points that could be redeemed for a box of sustainable snacks.

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify ran the activity on its platform and sourced the snacks. ONE PILE ran the book collection.
    Worked with
    ONE PILE

Note. Announced in launch coverage on 3 May 2024 as starting that month. Two internal launch scripts describe the qualifying condition differently, one as donating five books and the other as reading three in a month, so the exact mechanic is not stated here.

  9. Launch coverage and named collaborators

Coverage on 3 and 4 May 2024 described the founding story, the book-donation initiative with ONE PILE, and community service alongside several organisations.

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify launched publicly as a student-founded education platform.
    Worked with
ONE PILE, Foodlink, Feeding Hong Kong, New Life 330

Note. Named in relation to community work at the time. Not every past collaborator is an active partner today.

  10. Reading Marathon fundraising

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify ran the activity. The Hong Kong Red Cross registered it and was one of the beneficiaries.
    Worked with
    Hong Kong Red Cross

Note. The dates are those given on the register. The register does not publish an amount raised.

  11. Youth Empowers Youth 2025

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify ran the campaign. RMHC Hong Kong hosts the fundraiser page and receives the donations.
    Worked with
    RMHC Hong Kong

Note. The year comes from the campaign name on the RMHC Hong Kong page, which lists it as Youth Empowers Youth 2025; the page states no start or end date. The photographs are from a craft session for families at RMHC Hong Kong, dated 23 August 2025 by the filenames they were shared under. It is evidence of the campaign. It does not establish Sustainify's own charitable or donation-receipting status.

  12. Sustainability workshops with Chew & Chill

Sustainability workshops run with Synergy Distribution Limited, trading as Chew & Chill. Synergy's 2025 sustainable service catalogue lists a Green Plant Workshop whose game is described as designed by youth and which pays it forward to Sustainify.

    Sustainify's role
Sustainify helped run the sessions alongside Synergy, and is also named as the organisation the Green Plant Workshop supports.
    Worked with
Synergy Distribution Limited (Chew & Chill)

Note. Sustainify is the source for running the sessions together; the catalogue records only the pay-it-forward arrangement. No amount passed on is recorded, and we do not count Synergy's separate corporate bookings here.

  13. Youth Empowers Youth 2026

A second campaign of the same name on RMHC Hong Kong's fundraising site. Its page showed HK$200.00 raised when checked on 9 September 2026.

Where the numbers came from

Every figure, and what it counted

These numbers are here so you can trace them, not because we are claiming them. If you have seen one on a poster, in an article or in an old deck, this is where it came from and what it actually counted.

Some of our older internal numbers do not match these, so we go by what was published.

  • 143 service hours

    Sustainify pitch deckMarch 2024

The slide carries a question mark in the original file, so this was a working number, not a confirmed one.

  • 2,340 happy faces

    Sustainify pitch deckMarch 2024

A count of faces at activities. That is not the same as people helped, and the two should not be added together.

  • 280 beneficiaries

    Sustainify pitch deckMarch 2024

Grouped in the deck as SEN and mental health, underprivileged, and elderly.

  • More than 150 service hours and 2,400 beneficiaries

    Bastille Post3 May 2024

A media claim covering the six months before the launch. Both numbers are higher than our own pitch deck's, from six weeks earlier.

  • HK$780,000 equivalent in support

Sustainify, reported by Young Post Club10 June 2025

This is what the organisations involved at launch contributed, in products, materials and services. The feature called it funds raised, which is not the same thing: no cash of that size passed through Sustainify.

  • 2,400 users

Young Post Club, sponsored feature10 June 2025

Sponsored coverage. Users, people helped and people who turned up are three different counts, and should not be read as one.

Named in other organisations' records

Other organisations name Sustainify in listings of their own. Each one backs up the activity it describes, and nothing more than that.
